Darby’s Gutters & Roofs · Last updated September 2026
Darby’s Gutters & Roofs (“the Company”, “we”, “us”) refers to the trading name of Flèche & Sons Ltd. “Client” means the person, firm, or company booking the Service, including any commercial or letting agency clients. “Service” means any gutter clearing, repair, replacement, roofing work, or Home Buyers Check carried out for the Client.
Where a booking is made by phone, online, or at your home, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To cancel, contact us in writing (email is sufficient) at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment. There is no charge for cancellation within this period, and any deposit paid will be refunded in full, unless work has already been carried out or materials have already been purchased specifically for your job within the 14-day period, in which case you will be charged for the work done and/or materials bought.
If you ask us to carry out work sooner than 14 days after booking, you are agreeing to waive the remainder of this cooling-off right for that specific job.
Quotes for gutter clearing, repair, and Home Buyers Checks are provided based on the information given at time of booking (property size, storey height, and scope of work). Prices may be adjusted on site if the actual job scope differs materially from what was described when booking.
Full Gutter Replacement and roofing work are always quoted following a survey of the property. No standard price is given in advance, as costs vary significantly by property.
If you opt in to a maintenance reminder at the time of booking, we’ll get back in touch around your chosen interval (e.g. every 6 months, annually, or every 2 years) to ask if you’d like the work booked in again. You can ask us to stop these reminders at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle this information.
For Full Gutter Replacement and other individually quoted jobs, a deposit covering the cost of materials is required at time of booking, before work begins. This deposit is used solely to purchase the materials required for your job. The remaining balance (covering labour) is due on completion of the work.
The deposit amount will be confirmed as part of your survey quote and will vary depending on the materials required for your property.
Payment is due on completion of work, unless otherwise agreed (e.g. materials deposits for larger jobs, as above). We accept card payment and bank transfer.
All repair work, full gutter replacement, and roofing work carried out by Darby’s Gutters & Roofs is covered by a 1-year guarantee on parts and workmanship. If work fails within this period due to a fault in the original work, we will return to rectify it at no additional charge.
Standard gutter clears are not covered by this guarantee, since gutters naturally collect debris again over time regardless of how thoroughly they were cleared, so this isn’t something we can guarantee to stay clear. This guarantee also does not cover damage caused by factors outside our control (e.g. storm damage, third-party work, or normal wear and tear unrelated to the original work).
If you’re not satisfied with the standard of work, please contact us within 14 days of the appointment so we can arrange to return and put it right. We aim to resolve this with the same operative wherever possible; given the size of our team, a different operative may not always be available, but we will do our best to find a solution you’re happy with.
If an invoice remains unpaid beyond the agreed payment terms, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee to cover the cost of debt recovery, and to pass the matter to a debt recovery service if necessary.
The customer is responsible for ensuring reasonable and safe access to the property (including any relevant permissions for ladder, scaffold, or equipment placement, e.g. shared driveways, neighbouring gardens). If access is not available as described at booking, this may affect the price or require rescheduling.
Darby’s Gutters & Roofs holds public liability insurance of £5,000,000 for all work carried out under our name, including work carried out by our operatives on our behalf. Please report any concerns about the condition of your property or damage arising from our work within 48 hours of the appointment.
Gutter clearing includes checking downpipes for blockages, and we will attempt to clear these where possible. Downpipes that run underground cannot be guaranteed, as all of our work takes place above ground level. Where an underground blockage is identified, we will let you know and this falls outside the scope of the standard clearing service.
We may take before/after photographs of completed work for quality records and, with your permission, for use in our marketing (e.g. website, social media). Photographs will not be used publicly without your consent, and any images identifying your property specifically will be anonymised on request. See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle your information generally.
If you’re unhappy with any aspect of the service, please contact us directly at james@darbysgutters.co.uk or 07481 816842 and we will aim to resolve this promptly. We take all feedback seriously and use it to maintain our standards.
